Opportunities currently exist
for a wide variety of facility types and uses at one or both of DNTP's Campuses. The Office/Technology Campus will appeal to office, R&D, mission critical, an educational uses while the Industrial Campus is ideal for light manufacturing and distribution operations. Over time, commercial and retail uses will exist on both Campuses. Additionally, there are potential operational or applied technology synergies between Campuses for users who locate a headquarters or strategic office on one Campus while placing a key support or prototype facility on the other.
Light Manufacturing, Assembly and Distribution
DNTP's Industrial Campus is designed for a variety of industrial uses from approximately 20,000 to 500,000 square feet, with other space sizes also accommodated. Off-site detention supports optimal size and configuration flexibility, and helps reduce occupancy costs. Each building can be built to suit a variety of uses, specifications, operational efficiencies and parking requirements. All-new utility and communications infrastructure, including a state-of-the-art water treatment facility, are designed to support the widest array of possible uses, including: pharmaceutical or food processing, quality control or testing facilities, and component or equipment manufacturing or distribution. Fabyan Parkway strategically connects to major thoroughfares and rated truck routes, and area demographics ensure quality labor and lower operating costs for any business or operation.
Research & Development Facilities and Laboratories
The Office/Technology Campus provides the essential infrastructure and environment to support both industry leaders and start-up ventures in all facets of research including grid computing, product testing, and new product or technology development. DNTP can provide different space types and sizes specifically designed to house such operations. DNTP also envisions supporting on-site shared incubator space in addition to specialized research facilities built for a single, larger user. As appropriate, collaborative community functions and facilities may be developed as well. On-site R&D operations will benefit from direct, secure access to some of the most notable and robust research networks in existence today including StarLight, I-WIRE, TRECC, NCSA, Illinois Century Network (ICN), Global Lambda Rail Network, NIUNet, and Internet2.
Education / Government / Institutional Sector
DNTP is an ideal location for all types of not-for-profit and for-profit higher learning centers, strategic government facilities, and other institutional uses. With a unique combination of amenities, including on-site/nearby retail and recreation, DNTP's beautiful campus setting is the perfect environment to establish a cooperative collaborative community or a secure special-purpose facility. The Park is ideal for big and small space users alike, including satellite or branch campuses, specialized skills and vocational programs, applied research, training centers and related strategic operations. What's more, DNTP is located in close proximity to a sizable upwardly mobile population with strong demographics and trends, ideal for attracting students, educators, researchers and staff.

Office (Headquarters / Regional / Local)

The Office/Technology Campus is master planned for office facilities of various sizes and configurations, even a "campus within a campus". DNTP's robust communications infrastructure provides scalable bandwidth at unprecedented speed and throughput, thus serving as the nerve center of any scalable data network and providing the reach most companies require to seamlessly execute internal operations and external customer strategies well into the future. The park's prairie-style landscaping and architecture are both stunning and meticulous with -future upgrades planned to meet the most demanding user. Area amenities include METRA rail access, restaurants, shopping, hotels and resorts, golf and recreation, and immediate access to the DuPage County Airport (DPA; 7,570' runway; corporate hangar facilities). DNTP is located in an area known for its highly educated and sizable workforce, affordable living costs, and upscale bedroom communities.
Tiered Data Center, Disaster Recovery, Remote Data Storage, and "Mission Critical" Facilities
DNTP has quickly emerged as the region's premier location for every type of secure data-sensitive and network-dependent operation, such as tiered data centers, collocation/web-hosting hubs, business continuity/disaster recovery assets, grid computing, call centers, NOCs, and other mission critical facilities. The Park's advanced "plug and play" carrier-neutral infrastructure design is fully redundant and scalable, and includes two separate conduit rings and NETPOP facilities, multiple diverse "compass-design" high-bandwidth fiber feeds, and stable, high-capacity power that currently supports 2N and 2(N+1) requirements. In anticipation of the need for additional power capacity, DNTP has made firm arrangements to secure 14 megawatts of dedicated diverse-feed power to be operational by June, 2009 and potentially sooner based on demand. Because security concerns are of critical importance to DNTP and its occupants, the Park has extensive plans to scale its tiered approach to security as each users needs are specified.
As an added Park benefit, DNTP has formed a Rapid Response Team (RRT) of pre-qualified industry experts who are intimately familiar with all facets of the project and the local community. The RRT provides enterprise support throughout all phases of a project, including: detailed design specifications, creative cooling solutions, "green" initiatives, security concerns, equipment layouts, monitoring alternatives, emerging best practices or any other operational need.
Retail, Lodging, Commercial Support Services
As more users arrive to call DNTP home, a variety of retail and commercial businesses including restaurants, banks, pharmacies, shopping, health and medical facilities, day care and other daily conveniences will take root to support the Park's new workforce, their guests, and the surrounding community. A conference center and hotel is planned near the Park's Roosevelt Road entrance, with quick access to the DuPage County Airport, the Prairie Landing Golf Course and the area's main roadways.
Over time, DNTP is destined to emerge as a dynamic world-class mixed-use center for advanced business, research and education, next-generation commerce, and recreation. |
