CenterPoint Properties welcomes Pella as first to occupy new site
New facility to be constructed in DuPage National Technology Park

WEST CHICAGO, Illinois — Dec. 21, 2005 — Pella Corporation has announced plans to move to a new sales and service facility to be constructed in West Chicago, Ill. The privately-held company, named by FORTUNE magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For,” will occupy a new building at 2025 Enterprise Circle in West Chicago in DuPage County. The 174,352 sq. ft. facility is the first constructed in the DuPage National Technology Park (www.dntp.com) and will be developed and owned by CenterPoint Properties Trust, based in Oak Brook, Ill. CenterPoint was selected as the park’s master developer in partnership with the DuPage Airport Authority, which owns 800 acres of underlying land. Ground breaking is expected to take place late in 2005 for the Pella facility, with occupancy slated for late summer of 2006.

“Just as the Greater Chicago area is growing, so is the demand for Pella windows and doors, so we’re pleased to expand into this new facility to better serve our customers and provide space for our growing workforce,” said Scott Baril, general manager of the local Pella operations. “The DuPage National Technology Park offers the ideal location and transportation access to serve our customers well, along with the opportunity to develop relationships with other innovative, world-class technology companies that are essential for future business growth,” he said.

Morgan Harbour Construction will construct the new facility. Pella will relocate its operations from an existing facility in Carol Stream, Ill., in late summer in 2006 to provide a smooth transition for its customers and its 255 team members. “It will be a seamless transition for our customers,” Baril said.

In addition to expanded space for selling and servicing Pella® windows and doors, the facility will also include some of Pella’s information technology operations. “The state-of-the-art technological infrastructure available through the DuPage National Technology Park will be great assets for our team members in serving our customers quickly and efficiently,” Baril said.

Pella performed an exhaustive search of locations in the Greater Chicago area as it sought a new home after outgrowing available space in its main current Chicago-area facility.

Pella is known as a quality company and is a leader in technology and innovation, so it’s very fitting that they are the first to select the DuPage National Technology Park for their expansion,” said Fred Reynolds, senior vice president of development for CenterPoint Properties. “Pella is known as an enterprising privately-held company, and we’re pleased they selected the new West Chicago site as the home for their stylish showroom and sales and service operations, in addition to their high-tech IT operations.”

DuPage Airport Authority (DAA) representatives are equally as pleased with landing the park’s first customer. “The Pella name is widely-recognized for quality, both in terms of the products it produces and the type of work environment it provides, so we’re confident that their relocation to the Park will be the first of many leading companies who recognize how much this new site has to offer industry innovators,” said Mike Masciola, director of business development and marketing for the DAA.
